Sponsors for the SE Texas Patriot Guard Riders

These companies and individuals' generous gifts enable the PGR to honor our fallen heroes.

"Water the Hogs!" donations for the SE Texas PGR to buy water for our missions where on a hot day we can go through 30 cases of water.  Besides our members, we hand out water to the family, guest, military and LEOs at the services of fallen heroes. Water the Hogs!" donations help keep us all hydrated and is a life saver.

Carbonics donated two palettes of spring water for PGR missions in the beginning of the summer and even provides them with the Texas PGR logo on them.  This private label PGR water was a real life safer on mission in our brutal Texas heat where the PGR goes through dozens of cases of water at each mission.

Located in South Houston, Texas, Carbonic is a family owned and operated industrial gas company specializing in dry ice block, slice and pellet distribution in the Greater Houston Area, carbon dioxide gas and related products and services, and helium gas and related products and services. Owned and operated by PGR members.

Letter from an article in the The Galveston Daily News.

Kudos to the Duke Foundation for contributing to the South East Texas Patriot Guard Riders.

Duke has a strong history of supporting local communities throughout their organization. Since coming to Texas City to operate a co-gen plant, Duke Employees have been involved in many local charities and community projects. Every year the Duke Foundation makes donations to non-profit groups in which their employees are involved. One of the many groups they contributed to this year is the Patriot Guard Riders – Help on the Home Front.

The Patriot Guard Riders are best known for their primary mission; to honor our fallen heroes, and their families. They also have a wish to serve all our heroes; not only the ones who paid the ultimate sacrifice but also the one whose life has been forever changed by their service to the United States of America. The South East Texas PGR has completed over 43 various “missions” so far this year (through April). All related to supporting the individuals and families of those who have served our country. Part of this service is achieved through one of the lesser known aspects of this group, HOTH or “Help on the Home Front.” Part of the mission statement for HOTH is to “Establish a support network for catastrophically wounded Veterans who are reentering our communities.”

Please see the national and local web sights: www.patriotguard.org and www.setexaspgr.org for more information.

Glen Pappe and Jimmy Collier are both operators at the Duke Energy co-gen plant in Texas City, and members of the Patriot Guard Riders. Both applied for donations from the Duke Foundation for PGR, and The Duke Foundation graciously granted both requests. These funds will be used to support local returning heroes, as they work through the sometimes daunting task of recovering and rebuilding their lives.
