Armed Forces Blood Drive The Texas Air National Guard Armory in La Porte is holding a Blood drive on Nov 20 through Nov 22. At the same time they are holding a CARE Package drive that will benefit the Texas Military Family Foundation based at Ft Hood, Texas. A Blood Drive at or near any base has a very low success rate. This is not because to desire, which is immense, but because the possible donors have traveled out of the country. This leaves it to us civilians to fill the gap when we can. Since many can not donate blood at this time (your reasons are private), we would like to encourage you to participate in the CARE drive and receive a SETexas PGR Blood-Team Patch. You can receive a patch by either
If you donate blood, you get the patch. Which ever method you try, we will gather the $15 and item donations and present them as a single donation at the Armory AND you get a cool patch that will become the envy of all that missed out.
Please help this worthy cause. OUR PGR MISSION
DATE OF MISSION: Sat Nov 22

Below is the official flyers for the Blood and CARE drive

Adopt-A-Hero for Christmas Benefit and Fun Run Saturday 29 Nov 08 "Mommy how is Santa Clause and Grandma going to find me here?" That question is from a small kid staying at BAMC while his father is recovering from war wounds. Mommy does not have the answer --- we do.
This is the purpose of Adopt-A-Hero for Christmas. And it is not just for the kids but also the spouse that is separated from their family while praying for their hero's recovery. In many cases they only have what they brought with them. The spouse can not work while at BAMC, their family can not visit as it could be a 1000 miles from home. It is also for the wounded soldier that can not go buy presents for the family. Or the soldier that is stranded their alone.
How is....Santa going to
find them? This endeavor needs funds and support. One of the fund raisers is a fun run though Waller county on Nov 29. We will start and end at the East Monaville Hall, 13527 Cochran Rd, Monaville Texas ( 1 mile west of FM 362 and Waller Rd ) For our friends not familiar with Monaville, we will provide a guided ride to East Monaville Hall, leaving at 9:00 AM from Texas Cycle Leathers 20633 Katy Frwy, Suite B, Katy Texas 77450 (map)
* Adopt a Hero is now a approved non-profit and 501-3c Complete information can be found here.
RIDE CAPTAINS AND SUPPORT TEAMS:
The PGR has supported this for the last two years and look forward to this year.
Additional details will be posted on the SETexasPGR web site
as things change.

S.E. Texas PGR news and info * Our new Director of Merchandising Many of you have meet our Store Manager: Nana. Well all along she has been keeping a secret, she is a Graphic Artist by trade. Please stop by and congratulate her on the appointment to Director of Merchandising. Nana will also be restarting the mail order for our products and improving them as times permits. * Due to many changes in 2008, many have mentioned they do not know who is the leadership of SETexasPGR For the last three years we have tried to make it about the soldiers that we support while we preferred to remain in the background doing our thing. We even tried to maintain our web site with the same purpose. This purpose is that everything we do is to support our troops (fallen, wounded, or just having a tough time). Each of you has helped in many different ways. Many soldiers will never know how lucky the SETexasPGR is to have you supporting them (and us). Our signatures are always on the bottom of every BLAST, but this does not help in face recognition when your are trying to get a question answered at a mission. So to help remove the confusion, I added mine (Windrider) and Boomer's picture to the the bottom of the "About-Us" web page on the SETexasPGR site. Plus in coming months I will be adding RC's to a spotlight section so you will also know them on sight. * Boomer's medical update As of 4pm on Nov 19, it has been a eight days and the Doc's finally feel that they have adjust meds correctly so the nurses have requested to please please get Boomer out of here. He's spirit has been positive through out this vacation from work but he is more than ready to get back to the house and work and on his boomdog. He is just waiting for the final papers and he will head home. * Please monitor the SETexasPGR Calendar This is beginning of the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. There are LOTS of things going on with the PGR and everywhere else. this means that everyone has many extra things to draw their attention and consume their time. Many of our missions are not something that we can plan for, we react and go. Those that we can plan for are the:
We never know when we will get the call and have a mission. We do not want that call but we will be ready if/when it comes. * Open Invites An "Open invitation" is an event that is open to the public and it has been decided by the SETexas PGR leadership that it is something that we wish to pass on to our PGR members. HOWEVER in most cases we will not be assigning a Ride Captain, NOR setting up a staging location, NOR supplying a Support Vehicle, NOR Flag line, NOR other normal PGR Mission tasks. It will be posted in the "Open Invitation" section of our home page (this page) and the listing will be linked to the originators web site
(if it is available). | ||
